The comparison to the pandemic of 1918 is one of the most widely drawn to our current situation, for sure. The social, political, technological, and global contexts of 1918 are quite different than the context of our current world. How might those differences matter when drawing comparisons between the two events? In what ways should we be careful as we compare the past and the present?
