Obregón held a lasting, intense disdain for Villa. He was furious when De la Huerta pardoned Villa, and most scholars believe that Obregón's government was behind Villa's assassination in 1923. Do you think that Obregón could have presided over his presidency in the same ways had figures like Carranza, Zapata, and Villa still been alive?
